Curriculum

Faith-Based

Our faith-based curriculum incorporates a biblical foundation and Christian values. First and foremost, we teach our students that they are loved by Jesus, and how they can respond to his love. We incorporate scripture verses, praise music, and creative biblical storytelling into our daily activities, and encourage our students to apply these values to their relationships as they interact with others, resolve conflict, and problem solve throughout their day.

Individualized

Our individualized approach is developmentally focused, which means that we recognize that children move through specific stages of development at their own pace. Each child has their own learning style and temperament which contribute to how they process information and retain it as knowledge. We teach each child kindergarten skills in conjunction with the Nevada Pre-K standards.

Academic

Our emphasis is on the process of learning. We believe that preschool lays the foundation for educational success in a child’s future learning experiences. It is our goal to provide a solid foundation and a well-rounded curriculum while fostering developmentally appropriate practices.

Social/EMOTIONAL

Children need to be equipped with valuable life skills such as listening, communicating, conflict resolution, following instructions, sharing, and taking turns. We strive to help our students develop strong self-esteem and ensure an environment in which their ideas are respected and validated.

Noah’s Ark

Foundations
3yr olds

Social/emotional development is the focus in this classroom. Basic academics are introduced through our individualized approach as well as stage-appropriate teacher-directed activities. The hands-on approach promotes academic preparedness for the upper-level preschool.

Sunbeam

Intro to Preschool
3.5-4yr olds

The Washoe County School District Kindergarten standards are introduced in an age-appropriate manner. The children experience academics through our individualized approach and fun group activities.

Safari

4-5yr olds

The teacher implements all kindergarten standards with Nevada Pre-K standards enrichments. Goals and objectives are set up during free time for an intentional learning environment. Our individualized approach fosters concrete concepts and prepares our students for an easier transition to Kindergarten.

Promises

4-5yr olds

The teacher creates a stimulating learning environment with the Washoe County School District standards incorporated into Nevada Pre-K standards. Our individualized approach builds on the skills that each child already possesses with the goal of ensuring a solid foundation for future academic success.

King’s Kids

Kindergarten
5yr Olds

This classroom is our Private Kindergarten, licensed through Nevada State Board of Education. The curriculum goes beyond the Washoe County Kindergarten standards for academic confidence and proficiency. We also accept a few preschool-aged children (after they have passed an assessment) to the accelerated preschool program that is within the kindergarten classroom. Traditionally, the children in the accelerated program should be turning 5 years old by December 31st of the current school year.
