ABOUT US

Our Mission

“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:17-20

Our Discipleship Language

Discipleship as a Way of Life

In simplest terms, disciples are learners of the way of Jesus. Then, disciple makers help others take their next faith step. We believe this is a relational process that includes belonging, growing belief, and becoming. This is not a program , but this is a foundational way of thinking that informs our Group Life and all ministries at a foundational level. We believe when we provide environments that include all three aspects that Jesus is faithful to show up in mighty ways!

Believe

A disciple of Jesus is a continual learner from God's word.

Belong

A disciple of Jesus embraces life with others.

Become

A disciple of Jesus is outward focused.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible was written under inspiration from God. It is completely true and accurate in all that it affirms. It is the source of God's divine revelation and is the final authority for our belief and practice.

We believe God is the completely holy and sovereign creator and sustainer of the universe. He exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three persons are co-equal and co-eternal but are distinct from one another.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is both fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a perfect life and died as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. He rose bodily from the grave three days after being buried to display His victory over sin, Satan and death. Jesus will one day return to earth and reign as king.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He empowers believers to live the life God has called them to, inspired the scriptures, illuminates the word of God, and convicts' people of sin. By the Holy Spirit, believers are enable to produce the fruit of the Spirit and operate in spiritual gifts that they use to serve the church.

We believe God created mankind in His own image. Out of all of creation, mankind is set apart as God's special image bearers, which gives all people inherent worth and special responsibility. Mankind was created to know God and worship God.

We believe that due to the disobedience of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world and broke God's good creation. The effects of sin permeate all of creation, including people. Sin separates a person from God, and from others. Because of sin, man stands guilty before God, deserves punishment and is incapable of loving, worshipping, or cherishing God.

We believe the Gospel is the good news that salvation is available only through Jesus. The sinful state that people are in cannot be overcome by works. Rather, according to God's grace, salvation is offered to people as a free gift obtained through faith in the work of Jesus. Jesus' atoning death, burial, and bodily resurrection. Those who believe and call on the name of Jesus are born again: they are given a new heart that loves God, hates sin, and desires to live an obedient life. The Gospel saves, continually motivates, and humbles.

We believe the kingdom of God is solely His rule, reign and authority. His kingdom is present in this world but not fully expressed. When a person is born again, in essence, that person's citizenship is transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God. One day, God's rule, reign and authority will be perfectly expressed "on earth as it is in heaven."

We believe mankind was create to exist forever. Those who are in Christ will spend eternity in the new heaven and new earth in new life under the rule and reign of our savior Jesus, forever. Those who reject Jesus will experience the wrath of God and spend eternity separated from God in hell.

We believe the universal or worldwide church is united through belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe localized communities of Jesus' disciples are to gather as the local church with recognizable leadership under elders. They are committed to one another, the mission of God and gather regularly.

We believe communion is to be take regularly to remember Jesus' work on the cross - the bread symbolizes His broken body, and the wine or juice symbolizes His shed blood.

We believe baptism is one of the first acts of obedience for a follower of Jesus. The event demonstrates the person's new life in Jesus, publicly identifies them with the people of God, and is a picture of the gospel reality. Following Jesus' example, we practice baptism by immersion.

We believe marriage is a covenant relationship instituted by God that is between a man and a woman and provides the foundation for a family. It is defined from the beginning of Scripture as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and reaffirmed by Jesus as God's exclusive design for sexual expression. As a result, we believe that sexual activity is to only be practiced within a lifelong, monogamous, heterosexual marriage.
